Director of Data Strategy

As Director of Data Strategy, you will be a trusted advisor and subject-matter expert who provides senior leadership and strategic guidance to our clients. In this position, you will leverage your analytical knowledge and ability to translate complex data sets into compelling stories that lead to greater business insights and enhanced reporting.

As Director, you will be responsible for spearheading the planning, development and driving data strategies initiatives in collaboration with internal teams to develop data-driven marketing efforts. This position will be instrumental in developing roadmaps, recommending testing methodologies and frameworks, platform integrations and reporting. As Director, you will also be responsible for the client-data onboarding process, including identifying business growth opportunities, as well as the management and oversight of the Client Data Strategies department.

The ideal candidate must be a critical thinker, with a strong passion for problem-solving, and a deep understanding of data and technology, who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven agency environment.


  • Lead strategic planning and establish the data framework for campaign execution in collaboration with internal teams, fostering creative innovation that delivers on our clients’ business goals.
  • Manage client relationships in collaboration with Account Management, defining analytical needs, and driving the identification, evaluation and recommendation of new strategic ideas through execution.
  • Collaborate with data vendors to maximize the data opportunity for the client and go beyond what is currently available.
  • Evaluate the data-workflow process, and develop and enforce procedures and advanced automation to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Manage direct reports, and provide advisory support on client engagement and the creation and execution of client deliverables.
  • Be required to travel (15%).


  • 10+ years of experience in advanced analytics or strategy with a Marketing/Advertising agency.
  • Minimum of a BA/BS degree.
  • 7+ years of management experience with superior leadership.
  • Proven success in creating and delivering strategic presentations to marketing executives.
  • Ability to influence and gain support from stakeholders through effective communication and relationship building.
  • Ability to manipulate and analyze complex data from disparate databases into distilled, actionable information.
  • Expert-level proficiency in MS Office.
  • Basic experience using SQL is a plus.
